This year, with both the new 36mm Explorer line and the Explorer II watches, Rolex says it has applied a new and improved Chromalight that lasts longer and shines brighter.
The Explorer has one of the more straightforward histories when it comes to Rolex sport watches. There are only a handful of references, very few wacky variations, and the design has remained. I know the purists don't like it, and they can buy the 124270, but the two tone Explorer is lovely. The 36mm sizing is also a welcome change. I love my 40mm SubC and BLNR, but this Explorer is the most comfortable of the three and fits my 6.875" wrist like a glove.
